With the recent opening of its newest brewery, Parker, Colorado is following the rest of the state in the growing popularity of craft brewed beers. With more than 100 craft breweries throughout Colorado, Parker Colorado has carved out a niche in Douglas County Colorado. Colorado breweries are fast becomig the Napa Valley of specialty breweries.
Elk Mountain Brewing (www.elkmountainbrewing.com), Parker Colorado, opened in July in the industrial section North of downtown Parker. It joins the Falcon Brewery in downtown Parker Colorado as Douglas Counties newest breweries.
Elk Mountain Owner and Brewer Tom Bell said he's always wanted to operate a brewery. Elk Mountain Brewery in Parker Colorado opened with a full slate of unique beers, like Rock Slide Amber Ale, Mine Shaft Kolsch, Wild Wapiti Wheat and it's best beer, the Elk Mountain Brown. That beer recently took home a silver medal from the Colorado State Fair competition.
As for breweries, bars and pubs in Parker Colorado, Elk Nountain Brewery, 18921 Plaza Drive (just West of Parker Road off Plaza Drive), has a rustic western feel with Elk horns above the beetle-kill wood bar. They're offering free pool, darts and popcorn and have a list of local resturaunts tht d
eliver.
The Falcon (www.falconbrewingco.com), brewery, bar and pub in Parker Colorado, has been open since September 2008, and is located at 19751 E Mainstreet, just east of Parker Road. Owner Jason Deese keeps the Parker Colorado brewery, bar and pub running with help from Shane Driver, general manager and brewer Aubrey (Aub) Hall.
Deese has been deployed to Afghanistan with the Air Force, so sometimes it's hard to keep Falcon beers on tap (26 different kinds have been made so far). The Falcon brewery, bar and pub should have a new batches coming out mid-to-late September. But they always have good Colorado beers on tap,as well as an impressive lineup of bottled imported and craft beers from Avery, Oskar Blues, LeftHand and other Colorado breweries.
Parker, Colorado patrons can paint a 20-ounce mug next door at Haute Pottery, keep it Falcon and drink 20-ounce beers for the price of a 16-ouncer. Falcon brewery is open for lunch and dinner with a full menu of burgers, wings, salads and pulled pork nachos.
